got my steelies on - b4 & after pics
Installed my steelies on a couple days ago - Recently powdercoated the wheels and repainted the caps (thanks to PICKMUP for a nice set of caps).
I have not had a chance to take very good pics - but thought I'd go ahead and post these. Previous set was a nice set of wheels and tires (going up for sale after I clean em up).... but I wanted a different look. Before shot attached too.

Oh yea! MUCH better.
Those fancy aluminum wheels were nice, and they looked good and all but the steel is the way to go!

Re: got my steelies on - b4 & after pics
Looks awesome! Are they vintage wheels from 71/72, or are they aftermarket? I'm curious about the size of tire and the width/backspacing on the wheels. Very slick ride in general!

Very nice!! I am kind of partial to steel wheels myself. That truck has it all, color, stance and equipment. Very nice indeed!!

looks great, I think the white letters would have looked good with the white wheels too though

Re: got my steelies on - b4 & after pics
Thanks. These are vintage, period correct - kelsey hayes wheels.16.5 X 9.75, 33 inch tire, 12.5 wide. After blasting them and powder coating - they came out like brand new.

Re: got my steelies on - b4 & after pics
Thanks. I like the look of the white letters... but over time (for me) - the white letters get scraped up, harder to keep white, and I thought I'd go this route. I pull a trailer with dirt bikes - so we often go off road, and the side walls get tagged rocks...

Re: got my steelies on - b4 & after pics
It looks great either way but really gains some attitude with the steelies. I think you tend to notice the truck it's self more with the steelies on it where the shiny aluminum wheels were hollering look at me first.

Re: got my steelies on - b4 & after pics
Hey Dougo that Burb looks great with those steelies! Was curious to know what the size difference in rim & tire was between the two sets?

Re: got my steelies on - b4 & after pics
Thanks Southcity. I'd have to measure the alum wheels... I believe they are 17s, maybe 10 wide. The steels are 16.5, went with a 33 12.5 - which is basically same size tire that's on the alum wheels (made by Weld). That tire size looked good on the truck, plenty of clearence. So, no real difference in tire size (other than the new ones fit a 16.5 rim - same height/width). The offset is a little better on the steel wheels though... they tuck a little better than the other ones. That's not much help... let me know if you want specifics and I'll measure over the next couple days.

Re: got my steelies on - b4 & after pics
That's the exact wheel/tire size I have on my burb.
I get a lot of compliments on the way they fill the wheel well.
