It's a simple wish - just a lousy stock AM radio

My 70 Burb came with it's original non -working AM radio. I bought another one at a swap meet a couple of weeks ago and asked if it worked. The answer was "I don't know for sure but I think so". Put it in to find out that the translation for I don't know but I think so is really "no way is that thing going to work". Bought another one off flea bay from a retired electrical engineer who dabbles in old car radios. Put that one in and Walla! It worked. Unfortunately only for about 8 miles. Contacted the seller and sent it back to him to see if it can be repaired. Now instead of looking at a dead radio face, I am just looking at the holes in the dash. On the bright side, I can change out the radio in about 2-3 minutes.
Just a rant of sorts.

You could always just drive one of your other fine vehicles until you get your radio back.

Re: It's a simple wish - just a lousy stock AM radio

I have two working radios, one for each of my trucks. They're primarily for nostalgia and talk radio cause they don't sound all that good.

I get a spanish radio station, two religious and one sport station. The talk radio station that I really like to listen to is AM 1620 however, these radios don't go that high. Both of mine only go to 1510 or so.

If you really want to listen to music, save a few bucks and get an aftermarket made for our trucks.

I've had pretty good luck with these radios, but I know they can be frustrating. Don't give up. Most of the ones I've dealt with have worked pretty well. I have no problem with AM only in my truck. I only get one AM music station, but it sounds fine to me!
