I have a 71 with a 307 2 barrel carb. Does anyone know what the stock rating for horse power and tourq is?

Re: 307 horse power ?
200hp?....yeah, in a 400 big block.
the stock 2bbl fed truck 307 has like 130-135 (at the flywheel) horsepower. throw a 4 barrel on there and free up the exhaust a bit and maybe get 150hp. i'm putting a q-jet and edelbrock intake on my 72 burb with the stock 307 'cause i want more top end performance and better low end economy and throttle response than the 2 barrel can deliver. i have an edelbrock performer intake (idle-5500 rpm range) and the air box is a dual snorkel bottom w/ the lid off my dad's 84 burb w/ trailer package so i get plenty of air going through a 14x5 filter. i hear some GM cars got a H.O. version of the 307 with a 4 barrel and other tweaks that was closer to 200hp. Re: 307 horse power ?
There's a difference between gross hp and net hp, gross is with no accessories and headers, and net is the actual figure when installed in the truck. My 4bl 350 has 255 gross but only 195 net. So 200hp is correct for gross, but his net is probably closer to 135 or less with wear and tear.

Re: 307 horse power ?
I would suggest running the numbers on the block.

Re: 307 horse power ?
Ya gotta remember... That figure is for brand new. I think my 1980 454 in my dually was rated at 180 hp. My 1996 4.3 v-6 is also rated at 180 horses. You sell horsepower & drive torque. john

Re: 307 horse power ?
thats why i added gross at the end seemed high but if u look close in my earlier pic u can see in 1972 when they changed to SAE the hp went to 130hp, sorry bad pic. and in sure that this manual is not 100% accurate but it gives specs for all the years, and i use it to help give a general idea.
