Need help with 5x4.75 disc conversion
I have looked all over for this pattern and all of the manufactures have the same kits that bolt on to the stock spindle and they will not work with the drop spindle. cpp says it's bc the caliper bracket was made for a drum spindle and the guy said i should get a 5x5 kit machined.
Could i buy a drum drop spindle? Is there anyone sells this drop 5x4.75 kit? |

Re: Need help with 5x4.75 disc conversion
Apparently a lot of people here have asked this question. I got over 100 hits when I tried a search on this board.
Nobody sells a drum drop spindle that I am aware of, or a 4.75" drop conversion. The 4.75" conversions that keep your stock spindle use the 11" Chevelle/Camaro rotor. That rotor will not work on a drop spindle because the bearing size and caliper mount are both wrong for it. This thread should help if you are set up for a 12" rotor. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=319487 Ray Last edited by raycow; 06-09-2010 at 10:26 PM. |
