Help ID'ing this- also a couple of pics of trk

I am doing a part by part frame off as my memory is not what it used to be....a total frame off at one time would be more parts than I care to remember....

So anyway Heres the wire. It looks like a ground but I am uncertain as to why a ground would be fused?

Also included are a couple of pics of the old girl. This is my 6th or so of this species I have owned. I regretted getting rid of them all, but at the time money was tight...This one started off as a cam change and has grown far out of proportion from whence I started....

Thanks for your time

Its not a ground its a bus line with a fuse inside of that football shaped housing. There is also one on the other corner. There is a small glass fuse in each and it goes on that two prong distribution block right there on the inner fender.

It has been my understanding that this is is for the battery gage. I have never been sure if it should be ground or hot though.

Re: Help ID'ing this- also a couple of pics of trk

From the diagram it looks to be just three different routes to bring power in, where it's distributed from there.......Assistance is greatly appreciated, somewhere I have a factory manual...I just can't put my finger on it right now.

The diagram may help later though I have most of it done. I am running alot of stuff off of relays. The interior wiring looks to be unmolested just lots of "extra" wiring from the previous owner. The 4l80 tranny is the next thing to tackle and looks to be a treat, then the box off and new cab corners. Why do I do these things. All I wanted was a daily driver?

Ooops just caught your comment about the ammeter

Re: Help ID'ing this- also a couple of pics of trk

one time i tried to start my truck and got absolutely nothing. No click, no turnover, nothing.
took me about an hour of trying everything and still nothing!
until i finally messed with that junction and those 3 wires connected to it,wiggled it,tightened it up and bam!
truck started right up.

For the love of god, just drive it before you forget what the truck is supposed to look like !....LOL
