Re: new bumper

I pulled a duh...the first bumper I did was off a 78...straight...unlike the 84 that is a vee shape. set it up to the truck and realized the mistake...3 hrs shot in the rear, oh well...

flip kit, 3" spindles, leaf work(cut back half off shortest 3 leafs, clamped front half, ala mopar drag set up) rear sway bar off ford dually, front springs played with till level, sway bar off 3/4 ton big block surburban....15x7 front wheels/235-70's...rear, 15x8, 255-70's ... handles well and hooks pretty darn good since the rear bar

Re: new bumper

I like it! Want to cut up my 81 for me?
Your truck is really coming along man, the gloss black stripe across the hood is cool! I think that by bring the bumper in it shows more of the fender. (No pun intended since you have fender license plate)

Re: new bumper

Looks good. Do you have a rollpan out back? Also did it take alot of work to use a ford rear sway bar with a flipped axle?

Re: new bumper

Dapper, nope, the u bolts were huge, had to use 3" u bolts, room on brackets to drill the spacing, spun arms 180 and holes were already on the frame, I ought to jack it up and take some pics...no, stepside bumper onrear

Re: new bumper

I'm like yes, no, yes, no, yeeeaah, ah heck I don't know. Even though I'm not sure about the bumpers, I do like the overall look of the truck.

I think while I was doing all the cuttng and welding I would have been forced to put some big round driving lights in it. I feel that would really enhance the road racer look.

If you really want to be unique, find one of the old Hickey Enterprises fiberglass hoods for it.
