That is correct. and 71 only i believe.

disc brakes started in 71 for our trucks and it was a real big deal for gm. I remember that sticker on our new truck! dad took us all to micky d's for a burger in the new rig! (riding in the bed)!! good times! thanks for the post it brought me back to a better time. cheers, Pat

Yep, Eric, it is a one year only item. I think it just had to do with 71 being the first year and it was a way to promote their new brakes. 72 was mandatory and everyone was accustomed to them. Trevor

I don't know if mine had one at one time or not. I know mine hasn't had one on it since I have owned it. I have had it 24 years. I have seen them and always figured it was for the 71 year model since they were the first year with factory installed disc brakes.

well all you gotta do is get a lmc catolog and look in the back it shoes those emblems/stickers brand new repoped so you can putit on any tail gate

Here's mine. It's original! Obviously they didn't all end up in the exact same spot. It probably depended on the factory and the person applying them.

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811.
