Help- Steering wheel doesn't fit
I just bought a steering wheel off of what was suppose to be a 79 chevy pickup. It didn't come with the horn contact ring. The Wheel doesn't seem to go on far enough to go onto the splines of the steering column. I thought these wheels would fit . Any suggestions?
Thanks. Last edited by mudman; 02-15-2003 at 09:51 PM. |

You'll probably have to tap it on enough to get the nut started. Then use the nut to draw it down. That's what I had to do to install the 84 wheel on my 72..

Your new wheel is from a telescoping model, they have a collar for the slide distance.

Chevy trucks never came with telescoping steering wheels
