Stepside Chains

All is coming along with my fenderside rebuild and it is about time to sort the nuts and bolts and other bits which will be painted when the time comes. Were the tailgate chains on my '64 Fenderside painted to match the rest of the bed? The chains are currently painted red (faded, same as the truck) and were at one time painted white when the rest of the truck was white many years ago. I've yet to see any of the original light gray paint hidden under the other colors.

Re: Stepside Chains

The chains I found out were plated with a bright zinc finish originally. Kinda like chrome but not as shiny.
