I can't really get excited about it, but those exhaust tips! Now those are nice.
I'd notice those in traffic!

A bit over the top for my taste. I like things to be very clean and subtle.....simple elegance if you like. IMO that T-gate has a fairly high "cheese" factor.

i feel the same way. but if that is something that you like then don't let us here talk you out of it. but i do like the roll pan. roll pans just look cleaner if you ask me. it just sucks that they are such a pita to put in on your own

Re: what do you think of this tailgate??

Goes to show we all like different things. That would look nice and clean without the logo. It's like putting the sticker all the way across the top of the front windshield that says "chevrolet". This is just coming from a guy that doesn't want a single valve cover, air cleaner, tailgate, seat cover.......etc to say anything or have any kind of a logo. It's all about clean...........................

Re: what do you think of this tailgate??

i gotta agree with prostreet. and like the "billet" grill inserts. now about 6-7 years ago i liked them. and i would have liked the tailgate too. its just things like that are too over done in this day and age and it kinda become the norm. heck i even prefer my trucks with out any of the factory trim on them

I think it looks good! No goddier than C H E V R O L E T across the gate. Id go with the sport bumper in chrome to keep the exhaust tips company! roll pans and 4wds dont suit each other in my opinion.

Re: what do you think of this tailgate??

I put a roll pan on my 70 CST, no frame cutting required. have a buddy over to help you hold it in place for the first few tacks, then weld away! Very simple process if you can weld!

How about removing the tailgate after you get it welded, or putting it on if you have it off? I think member IvelDesigns had to change his tailgate to a quick release type after installing a rolled pan....

Re: what do you think of this tailgate??

Guess I'm old school. I like the original tailgates. I bought one, no rust, all the hardware works, no dents for $50.

I notched the hinges on the left side of the truck I'm working on like a guy did on this site. The gate comes on and off similar to a later model truck. It works great.

the down side is you've made it a 15second job for a thief to steal it

A thief would have to know it comes off easily, which these trucks normally don't. Not to mention, my truck will have a locking hard tonneau cover like this.......
