Is it a 50th??

Trying to figure out if my truck could be a 50th......

Truck is black now but we confirmed it used to be gold after removing the brake booster and just recently sanding inside the cab the first coat of paint was indeed gold. The question I have is the vin indicates the truck was originally a stepper it is now a fleet. Did they paint stepsides in the 50th colors or were there two different colors of gold in 1968? The original build sheet on the glove door is gone so that's no help. Does any one have a picture of a 50th stepside?

thanks.........Rick

Re: Is it a 50th??

the VIN wont tell you if it is a stepside or not.
Yes, stepside 50ths were made, they were all gold with just white on the roof.
What color is your dash pad and sun visors... and if the seat is original, what color is it

Re: Is it a 50th??

Most has been changed custom interior, truck is now black and fleetside box has been added. I personally have never seen a stepside 50th. I was just wondering if there was another shade of gold color available that year.

Re: Is it a 50th??

they came in gold, even gold with white roof, with no 50th features.
what in the VIN makes you think it was a stepside?
What options are listed on the SPID (option sheet)

As longhornman said serial # will designate 2wd or 4wd , engine v8 or 6 cyl,1/2 3/4 etc,year build plant.You need model # off spid to get bed.last 2 digits, 34 indicates fleetside can't remember #s for stepside example ce10934 C= 2wd E= v8 1 =1/2ton 09 can't remember 34= fleetbed
