If you want a "legal" free Photoshop, try The Gimp instead. They have a windows port now and its supposed to look a lot like photoshop. I've never seen photoshop, so I can't tell you for sure but Gimp is a nice tool.

Yep...Cable modems are GOOD !!!!

BTW if you are using the imesh client for downloads make sure to download the version that has had the pop ups and spyware hacked out. Its so nice. Or I can email you the program if you want.

Yall might want to check out Photoshop Elements. It is the same basic program as photoshop, but a cheaper dumbed down form. I have both and I would say they are pretty much Identical with the exception of a few special effects that only proffessionals would use. I'm not sure if they sell it individually, but we bought a scanner (Epson) and it had photoshop elements included with the package.

I use GIMP pretty often. It's got easily as much functionality as Photoshop but if you're used to the Adobe product, it takes a LOT of getting used to as operation of tools is QUITE different. As for all of you discussing software pirating, you might consider NOT doing that since it's illegal, but at very least, maybe you could discuss it privately.

Just an FYI - If your going to "aquire" or "distribute" programs, you may not want to post it on a message board like this. The fines can be pretty steep.

Fine can be up to $250,000 and/or 5 years in jail. When I was in art school in '91, the school was nailed with a $200,000 fine for illegal software installed by the students! Granted, it is mostly businesses that are targeted, but I would still proceed with caution, especially in a public forum.

The gimp is excellent as stated above. I use different unix operating systems daily, along with gimp sometimes. I have also did some software developing and when you download it off kazaa, its just like stealing a truck off a dealership lot with poor security.
