Vent removal quick question
Tried to get a quickfix done, followed all the intructions in my Haynes manual to remove the vent window but I can't seem to apply the step that tells me to move the main glass away from the window. I've tried as hard as I can and can't move it more than a half inch away from the vent, anyone done this that can tell me something? It's a 67 and I've heard the vents are different than all other years.

Re: Vent removal quick question
Mine's a '72, although I'm pretty sure the're the same. I had to remove the (3) screws that secure the rear channel ( the side toward the latch). Once that channel is allowed to slide back and actually kind of twist out of the way about 1 1/2", the window then can easily be moved rearward. On mine there are (2) screws on the panel side of the door, and (1) screw just above the latch. When you remove the panel they are all pretty much visable. Once you complete one, the other is a piece of cake. It's cleaning, lubing & painting that takes so much time. Check the archive, I think there's a step by step on the procedure.
