A/C kit and forum vendors

I ran a search and didn't come up with much...

I would love to find an a/c kit (that uses 134a) for my 78 K20 454 that included everything needed to get this thing back up and blowing cold. The main things I would like are:

a) a Sanden compressor
b) a new parallel flow condenser
c) new hoses to fit the Sanden
d) new orifice tube
e) new dryer and sensor
f) new O-rings

So basically everything except the evaporator . Does anyone know of a kit on the market, or even better from a vendor on this forum, that has what I am looking for? I will piece it together myself if I need to, but I thought I would see what I could find here first.

Read this post at the link below. You can now have a Sanden Compressor that will bolt in and use your original brackets, hoses ,etc.

I'm not aware of a kit like that, but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Your best bet is probably Vintage Air (not far from you) or putting it all together yourself.

You can probably get a generic condenser to fit (http://www.ackits.com/c/Parallel/Par...+Aluminum.html). They'll also have have the compressor and stuff.

Summit has one for later trucks. I don't know if it could be made to fit yours (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PLI-636420/).

Alan Grove for the mounting bracket (http://www.alangrovecomponents.com/). You'll have to get hoses custom made (maybe at NAPA?). The rest of the parts should be easy to come up with.

Re: A/C kit and forum vendors

Vintage Air offers a kit specifically for 73-87 trucks. My truck will be getting one in a couple months.

Yeah good info, I think I might just put it together piece by piece myself and maybe even make my own brackets. The hoses are my main concern, I had forgotten that Napa will make them, good call! Otherwise I will probably go to Carlisle Air here in S.A. They are a great shop and we seem to see eye to eye as far as what to update and what to keep original. This is a "budget build" but I don't mind buying new parts as needed for functionality, but I don't need any flashyness.

The only kits I see from Vintage Air is for either a full kit or just and evaporator kit. The evaporator is basically the only piece of my original that I am planning to keep. I'm hoping to find a package somewhat like the Camaro kit in this pic.
