Odd problem with a stock '87 K10 cutting out.

Hey all,
I've got a stock '87 TBI K10 with a rebuilt 350 and a 700r4. The truck has always ran perfect, never had a single problem with it until today. On my way to work this morning running 60-65 down the highway I felt the truck cut out, just for a second. I felt it jerk and cut out then it would pick right back up and run fine. It did this several times during my 6 mile trip to work. When I got to the stop light and took off again it cut out several times in a row before I could get up to speed. I made it to work, parked it. Got off at 5 came out and started it up. It started fine, reved up fine several times, kicked the A/C on and seemed like it might have sputtered a bit. Took off and headed home. The truck did the same thing as it did this morning. Going down the highway it would cut out and jerk for just a second and then keep right on going. When I got home, put the truck in park, it truck seemed to be idleing a lil rougher than normal, but not bad, just noticeable.
I know this could really be anything but yall maybe give me some ideas of what to start looking at and checking?? I'm not real familiar with the TBI system and I don't know what all is controled by the electrical system compared to the older '80's models. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

water bottle sprayer, wet the plug wires down, listen for snap or do it at dusk to see plug wire breakdown. when did you replace fuel filter last? the fuel punp could also be on the way out...these are the things I would start with...

Agree - Check fuel delivery as OE Fuel Pump might be going out.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll start with the filter and if that don't fix it I'll move on to the fuel pump. I'll also chec the spark plug wire, but they are fairly new so I don't think that's the problem.

Thanks!!!

Sounds like what mine was doing, turned out to be water in the fuel. Good luck diagnosing.

Re: Odd problem with a stock '87 K10 cutting out.

I changed out the fuel filter and added some Lucas fuel treatment and took it for a drive. I went about 20 miles and I never felt it cut out or miss. It does seem to still have a bit of a rough idle, but it might just be in my head. I'll drive it again tomorrow and see if it gives me any trouble. I hope that fixed it because I didn't know the fuel pump on this one was in the gas tank?? I never hear it priming up when I turn the key like most in-tank fuel pumps. I guess I thought it was still on the lower side of the motor in '87.
