Just curious if anyone else snowmobiles on here, seeing as how there is such a diverse group of people on this forum. I love to snowmobile and have 2 sleds, well one is mine the other is my dads. Both are Arctic Cats, a 98 ZL 500 and a 02 ZR 800, as you can see in my signature line. :p

we ride 4 wheelers here in ky, usally dont get enough snow to buy one, exept this year. Seems to be alittle more fun tho play in the mud when its warm. We also use them in the winter to pull car hoods around, or should i say....sling them around. LOL I would like to ride one though.

Just got back from MI's western UP. EXCELLENT conditions last week. I ride a 97 580 ZR EFI. I don't go as much as I like cause ya gotta drive a few hours to get to good snow from NW Ohio!

I don't snowmobile(Atlanta doesn't get much snow) But being interested in anything that goes fast I did read an article in Popular Mechanics on the new performance snowmobiles.152 HP @137MPH seems like it would be fun on the snow.

We just got back from sleddin about 10 minutes ago. We have a few sleds. 1984 Yamaha Bravo, 1975 Ski Doo Olympic Special 440, 1992 Polaris Indy Star Lite , 1989 Arctic Cat Jag 440 AFS, and a 1991 Panther 440. No really biased when it come to sleds, they're all fun as hell

i used to have a couple of older ones and sometimes i rode the brother in-laws it was a 93 artic cat thunder cat 900 it had bored out and suped up a little man its FAST

PanelDeland, hate to say this but that article is totally false. The snowmobile that can 137mph cannot. Its Yamaha's RX-1 4 stroke sled. It is a neat sled, being the first highperformance 4 stroke snowmobile, but it cannot go 137mph and it does not have 150+hp. It was dynoed at closer to 140. I read that article and laughed my @$$ off. The RX-1 is no doubt a cool set forward in snowmobiling history, its just not what they claim it to be.

I use to own a 92 mach1. It was a lot of fun. I got out of snowmobiling 4 years ago. Do I miss it? Yes. Do I miss the expence of the sport? No. On an avrage weekend I wold spend $150, and most of that was on gaz. Now gaz has gone up since that.

I have a 94 Polaris that I havent riden in the since last year, and even then I only went for one ride

Maybe I will drive it around my yard in a couple weeks :p make friends with the neighbors

Long track with the big lugs - you can pull the front ski's off the snow with this one! Snowmobiles rock!

Used to ride around on a few back in my Ontario days. We played around on my friend's grandfather's Ariens when we were kids. A big clunker that was really hard to handle in the deep snow. But the most fun was tying a toboggan onto the back and whipping down Chemong Lake (frozen over of course, lol). I lived in Peterborough, Ont. where they held the Kawartha Cup snowmobile races. You could hear those guys clear across town taking them machines upwards of 80 mph.

I live in a NO SNOW area now, but if I were to move back to "winter" country I'd definitely be shopping for one.

Haven't had the time to go sledding lately. I've been to West Yellowstone approx. 20 times and to Jackson Hole Hill climb once. I sold my ThundeCat long track a couple of years ago and borrow my buddies Mach Z when I do find the time. I broke my ankle jumping a approach, got a fiberglass cast on and went on our anuual trip to West Yellowstone. I cut the my woolen socks and Kodiak winter boot to fiit over my cast. Every morning my buddies helped me "duct tape up my boots"...lol

We made a video of our group crossing open water in West Yellowstone and last summer my buddy took his Mach Z out in July and went onto the lake. He was doing really good until he took a sharp turn to come back in and sunk his Mach Z. Tore in down and dried in out and he was back sledding this winter with it.

In May we use to say "Only 6 more months till winter!!!"
