Rhino liner
I was wondering if rhino lining the inner wheel wells would help protect from the rust caused by salt and other road debris?

i'm sure it would... it's not cheap though. If the metal is currently in good shape you could look at epoxy primer and then a DIY Raptor bed liner.

Go to your local parts store and get some of the cheap roll on stuff. Prep it to the best of your abilities and let 'er rip.

Paint stores stock a spray can undercoating, I've been using it to do the bottom of my cab and inner side of fenders and bed side. When I took my truck apart it had undercoating on the bottom of the cab, bed and one front fender/cowl area. The other fender had been replaced at some time.
The undercoated areas were fine, no rust issues. The un coated one had rusted through at the eyebrow and bottom brace and was rusting at the top of the wheel opening. I'm going to do the bottom of the bed when I get it installed too since the truck will be a daily driver and used off-road. It costs about $12 a can and one will do the inside of two fenders or a cab bottom. Make sure you mask anywhere you do not want it to go. I am going to do my bed with a product like linex sold online that can be tinted to match your paint.

I had my inner fenders Rhino’d, not so much for rust protection (no road salt around here), but more to stiffen them up as these cheap ass Chinese repop inner fenders were thinner than an onion skin. The Rhino shop stuck me $180 to spray both inner fenders on both sides, which I thought was decent. Well worth the money in my opinion. I have not had good luck with any of the DIY crap in spray bombs or roll on.
