rear end

will the rear end out of 77 gmc parts truck work on my 62?

It won't bolt in. You can use it if you weld on the mounts for the trailing arms and panhard bar. Also, it is about 1-1/2" wider than the stock 62 rear, but normally that won't be a problem.

I have never had a problem with any tires I could get on the stock wheels. It's a potential problem only if you run wide wheels/tires and are lowered enough that the tires can rub the fenders. Normally, you can avoid interference with aftermarket wheels by choosing your backspacing carefully.

i wanna run 17 inch wheels with a ten inch wide tire and the truck will be lowered 5 inches in the back. you think i will run into any problems?

You're going to be pushing it trying to fit a 10" in a stepside I believe. G60's 265/60 or 70's are about the widest tires I've been able to fit under mine and its not dropped.
