front clip removal
on the front clip removal, exactly how many bolts are there and where are they located?
when i say front clip, i mean the two fenders and bumper all removed as one unit. i've noticed some guys remove the "front clip" to make installing the motor or motor/tranny combo easier. two guys removing it, with one hand each on the wheel well and one on/under the bumper.

Re: front clip removal
the bumper isn't hooked to the front clip.
2 fenders, fenderwells, core support and grill, and the hood with hinges. Its been a while since I've done this... bit I think there's the nuts under the core support to the frame, 1 bolt in the upper rear of each fenderwell, 1 or two bolts per side in the lower rear fender, and then after removing the cowl, there's one or two bolts per side in there. Then under hood, rad hoses, trans cooler lines (if an automatic) battery cables, and unplug the harness from the firewall. I think thats it |

It might just be easier to leave em on and put the motor/tranny in like everybody else. ha ha

Re: front clip removal
FAQ has a good write-up on all the bolts that need to be removed.
I removed my entire front clip: hood, inner fenders, outer fenders, grille, rad support. Left it together as one unit. This way all of the sheetmetal gaps are maintained when reassembled. Here are some pics:

Beautiful!
so it's everything minus the bumper (and bumper brackets).

Re: front clip removal
I also had to remove my lower steering shaft due to leaving the inner fenders attached.
