68 Panel Wagon - K20...Whats she worth?

This rare panel wagon is up for sale again and its right down the street from me.....I'm kinda intrigued with it and thinking about making an offer...What do you guys think she is worth?....and was there really only 69 of these made in 1968?

1968 Chevrolet K20, 3/4 ton, 4wd Panel Wagon. An incredibly rare vehicle 327, 3 speed manual trans. on the floor. Wood floorboards in the back. Only 69 of these trucks were ever produced, and 1968 was the last year GM ever made 4wd Panel Trucks. The truck does not run, though it could be made roadworthy with minor work.

Re: 68 Panel Wagon - K20...Whats she worth?

$5500 seems a little high to me but its a southwest truck. There is a 68 K20 panel on the Knoxville Craig's list for $3000. Seems unlikely that if only 69 were made, two survivors happen to be available, but maybe. Cool rigs in any event.

Re: 68 Panel Wagon - K20...Whats she worth?

im guessing he breaks it down buy year/k20/options to get 69, but who knows. Sometimes when you see rare numbers they say well only 2000 were made this year and out of those 2000 only 100 were k204wd, and out of those 100 only 69 were white k20s, and this is one of those 69

Re: 68 Panel Wagon - K20...Whats she worth?

it is that rare... K/20 alone... not faking the funk with games of options, that is by the model number.
And akk K/20s were 4X4 3/4 ton. the k means 4x4, the 20 means 3/4 ton.

Re: 68 Panel Wagon - K20...Whats she worth?

Longhorn Man is right, a 3/4 ton 4X4 panel is an extremly rare truck in itself, options in this case have nothing to do with it's rarity. That truck needs to be restored.

Re: 68 Panel Wagon - K20...Whats she worth?

if it's make an offer type of deal i'd start at $500 or less and go from there

RARE yes COOL yes doesnt translate to high dollar collectable when fully restored ,i think no matter how much is spent it will tend to languish in the ranks of the oddity class. so the less spent the better for investment return potential

Re: 68 Panel Wagon - K20...Whats she worth?

Totally agree, rare doesn't equate high dollar. Panels are a niche. I think they're way cool; had one until early this year. Took me almost a year to sell mine and ended up dropping the price quite a bit to do it. Advertised it here, on CL, and a few other car related boards. I got maybe 10 inquiries in that year; of that one guy came and took a look and the new owner bought it site unseen. I wouldn't go in offering $500, just not my style but worse he can do is say no. I've told lowballers no plenty of times.
