Front Coils fitment question...'63
I have new front coils, standard height, to go with Drop Spindles from Early Classic. When installing, if you match the D shape of the spring top in the crossmember upper retainer, then the lower end of the spring does not match the notch in the lower A arm well.
How critical is it that the lower coil end it fit into the lower well notch? The coil would need about 2" cut off for the end to sit properly. If I don't shorten, it looks like it would add 1/2 inch or so in ride height. This is not an offroad jumping truck, so I don't think the spring would ever "walk" or rotate like if the front was totally unloaded. Opinions?? So much for high dollar brand new aftermarket kits.

Line up the top of the spring.
Don't worry about the bottom of the spring. The bottom is not that critical. You are correct,... once installed, it won't walk or move around.
