sterring coloum mounting bracket

Its been 9 years since I pulled the truck apart and I cant seem to remember how the sterring coloum mounts under the dash and if I still have the parts, does anyone have a picture of the bracket and how it mounts??? Im goin with a ididit coloum but I believe the stock mounting hardware is needed from what there web sight says.... Thanks Ron

Heres a few pictures of how I mounted my "no mount" ididit column in my 65. I used a 2"1/4 in exhaust pipe cut in half and welded onto my orginal bracket the created a clamp with some tubing and bolts and retained the original bulk head mount. a few more, it also let me retain the original mounting and function of the emergency brake handle. Since these pictures I have changed the mounting bolts to button head bolts to clean up the visible bolt head under the dash and finished the welds up. looks factory.

That looks pretty good. I was wondering how to mount an aftermarket column.....

I looked at the billet hangers, and when you attach them, they look like the column would be lower from the dash than stock......

Here are two pictures showing the brackets from the 1960 Chevy Shop Manual. The next two show how I installed an aftermarket column in my 1960 GMC. I simply drilled two holes in the bracket and clamped it in place with a muffler clamp as shown, and then reattached the bracket to the dash support using the stock hardware. With this method everything looks completely stock when sitting in the seats. Interestingly, the bracket in the factory photos looks more angular than the version that originally came in my truck.

Silly me... I put the colum in place with the bracket, got it all lined up and then maked it and got a couple of 5/16 nuts, and welded them to the column. It also creates enough room to run the wires back down the column where they were orignally. I am betting that Ididit runs them inside anyway. Oh did I forget to mention that it is kind of a PITA to do...
