8 Ralley wheel ??

Will the 8" ralley wheel fit in front with a 275/60/15 and lowered 4"? I'll be loweing with a 3" drop spindle and 3/4 cut off the spring. I know I'm going to run into clearance issues with the 3" drop spindles and the 8" ralley wheel but nothing a lil grinding of the lower control arm won't solve. But will I run into tire clearance issues with the tie rod ends or wheel wells?

And oh yeah pics if ya have'em

Thanks in advance, as I know that someone here has been there done that.

I'm running a 3 spindle and 2 springs with 8 rallies with no problems at all.

Re: 8 Ralley wheel ??

275/60's will rub...at the top of the inner fender. I learned this on my '86 back in 1990. It has 3 in spindles and 1 in. drop springs.

Re: 8 Ralley wheel ??

I think I may have to clarify my main question. Will the tires fit, 275/60/15 on 8" ralleys on the front?

I'd think someone would have been curious enough to find out before me.

Re: 8 Ralley wheel ??

hahaha... to clarify..

I had the same combo... 8 in rallys, 275/60's and 4 inch drop... yes they rub on the inner fender every time you hit a bump.

Damn I hate that answer. So it's a smaller tire, or less coil. 255/60/15 may be?

Re: 8 Ralley wheel ??

I'm running 275/50/15's up front and they rubbed the inner fender until I aligned it with slight negative camber and rolled the fender lip. With 3 inch spindles you may or may not have to clearance the lower control arm ( I didn't have to). I did have to smooth the caliper ridge and the top of the spindle to clear the wheels. I think the 255's would work better with less issues. Check some of the drop threads here in the search function to see some of the trucks with that combo.

Re: 8 Ralley wheel ??

I did it on a 4" front drop. If I hit a dip at speed it would rub the inner fender. Other than that it was ok.

Re: 8 Ralley wheel ??

I see a neigbor of mine has 245/60/15 on Anson slot mags wheels but the tire appears small on his truck. His is lowered with all springs, heated at that. I'd sure would like to know if 255/60 would work with this combo.

I was tire shopping yesterday and everywhere I stopped they wanted to list price me (reach in my pocket like I was born yesterday with birthday money). Les Schwab wanted $125 each for chinese tires, $4.50 for a valve stem and $15 for a mount and balance on a bare rime cash and carry.

Re: 8 Ralley wheel ??

Perfect! Thanks Joe. I just got back from a tire shop and picked up two for the front. Are yours on Ralley wheels? It will be just a few weeks now before I can put the lowerig goodies I've been collecting, but I'm sure glad to realize they are going to fit. Pics to follow later tonight or tomorrow of course. Time for now.

Re: 8 Ralley wheel ??

It will fit, I'm running 255 60 on 8 rally on the front with bell tech spindles, and one coil cut. And 295 50 on custom 11 wide rally on the rear, with de-arch rears, shackels and hangers, and no rub
