I went to the track for the 1st time!!(Video Added)

Truck details:
85 SWB 305 with some bolt-ons, th350 w/shift kit, 10 bolt open 3.08 gears, 295/50/15 street tires and stock suspension. I think the truck ran great but I think with some more time at the track I can drop the times. Had a great time and I am definitely hooked on the strip and can't wait to get going on the truck for real. Anyway here are the times
1st run:
RT:.485
60ft:2.524
1/8et:11.385
1/8 mph:60.75
1/4et:17.974
1/4 mph:71.01

2nd run:
RT:.150
60ft:2.501
1/8et:11.263
1/8 mph:61.69
1/4et:17.691
1/4 mph:71.82

http://s154.photobucket.com/albums/s...t=My2ndRun.mp4

3rd Run:
RT:.361
60ft:2.497
1/8et:11.307
1/8 mph:61.02
1/4et:17.795
1/4 mph:73.86

Try not to laugh at me too much, I got to start somewhere. I will post the video tomorrow.

You're right, you've got to start somewhere.
At least you had fun and found a new hobby
Congrats

looks consistent. and you had fun thats the main thing. change the gears in that rearend to a 4.11 or something and if you dont plan on driving it on the street again throw in a mini spool, cheap and affective

Re: I went to the track for the 1st time!!

It will run on the street still but I will probably make a trip to the pull a part to find a 9" that can go under the truck. I am going to try and get it in the 16s before I swap to the 350. The 350 is to have a good motor so I can start my big block build.

have fun but becarefull dragracing is addictive,Believe me I spent a cpl of fortunes doing.I can't go to track now without getting a itch. This itch cost me few grand if I scratch it.Once you go to a blower motor everything else is boring, unless its running nitro. No I don't mean nitrous either its ok but not the same rush.

Re: I went to the track for the 1st time!!

Get some gears in that thing. The 60' time is atrocious. Gears are your biggest issue You can probably pick up a second or more just by swapping to a 3.73

Re: I went to the track for the 1st time!!

I have plans to go and pick up a 9" here real soon so I am not going to put any money in the 10 bolt. This was just a baseline run to see where the truck started. I will also get a free 350 from a buddy of mine, not sure what I am going to do with it though.

Re: I went to the track for the 1st time!!

my big 5300lb '01 Sierra C3 extended cab with 325hp 6.0/AWD/3.73's would run 15's in the low 90's. Amazing what the differences are.

I guess thats why I'm putting a 6.0 in my '68 GMC.

Re: I went to the track for the 1st time!!

I know, it's crazy how good the vehicles are in HP dept. I want to run my 2010 silverado to see what the difference is.
