73-80 vs 81-87 Cab Moldings
What is the difference between the 73-80 and 81-87 cab corner moldings. These are the moldings right below the back window and have the Chevy Bowtie on them. There are many pairs of 73-80 moldings available but I see no 81-87. Will the older ones work?

The 73-80 mouldings are much taller than the 81-87. I would guess half again as tall.

The 81-87 corner moldings are nearly $200 a piece new when you can find them, you can get plain ones for like $20. You might try ebay.I got a good used set from the guy thats painting my truck $20.

Hmmm, I wonder if I should just replace the entire moldings, including the center piece, with the 73-80 style then. Would they mount the same?

Re: 73-80 vs 81-87 Cab Moldings
Th 73-80 sets require more mounting points for the molding right below the window. Regardless of the model year, these things might be next to impossible to find. And the guys that have them aren't willing to give them up.................
