Part Number Help

I am looking at replacing my rear main seal.
While running a search I found two types
One with a falange
One without
Which one is correct?
Does it matter?
Thanks

Re: Part Number Help

I think it depends on the year of your six. Leo Santucci's book says early motors used the flange type. My old 67 gmc with a 250 used that type. I got mine at Napa but can't remember the year cut-off. Get both and return the one you don't need. They're cheap.
