'70 Chevy Jack & Accessories Info
-
I had the jack, jack handle, wheel wrench, and parts bag all out today so I thought I would take some pics and get some measurements. As far as I know these are all original to my '70 Chevy pickup but there is no guarantee on this. The jack measures 7 1/2" lowered & 16" raised. The rest of the measurements are on the pictures. The parts bag had a tie fastened about mid-way on the other side (looked like a narrow shoe string) to close the bag up. Wasn't much left of it though LockDoc

Re: '70 Chevy Jack & Accessories Info
LockDoc,
Great documentation That is a very nice set and in great shape too. These are some of the first parts that usually disappear on old vehicles. Now can you show a pic of how that spring attachment on back side of the passenger door jamb works? I have always heard that it was for something to do with the jack storage.

OK, I forgot I was going to take some pics of the jack storage. I am not 100% sure on the jack location because when I got my truck it was stuck under the seat. The bag/sleeve was standing in the corner as shown with the spring around it. The wide end of the bag was up as well as the wide end of the jack handle and the angled part of lug wrench was down at the bottom of the bag. No guarantee this is correct though.... It wouldn't work without the bag/sleeve, or something wrapped around it.

Re: '70 Chevy Jack & Accessories Info
you are all correct with the arrangement of your stuff...I have the same stuff in mine....44,000 miles and had never been removed...the white styrofoam sleeve is ruint but the rest is in VERY good shape...its not often you find stuff like that...hold on to it and make it all as original as you can. I'll try to get some pics of mine sometime, have alot of it took apart right now but will try to get it done soon...and post pics of my jack and all...mine is a 70 also. Great Find!!
