How common is this?

I've never really spent much time looking at 2wd trucks, so I have no idea... How common is a 72 2wd lwb 402? It has the wood grain door panels, but I don't know what the actual trim package is on it yet. I had it offered to me in a trade. Just curious if these are something that is highly sought after or if they are pretty easily found...

Re: How common is this?

sounds like a lwb, big block Cheyenne. I say Cheyenne because of the door panels, but those could have been a transplant. not super rare, but then again if it's a true Cheyenne or Super it's a sought after truck, nonetheless.

can you get a pic of the spid label inside the glove compartment door? any overall pics?

Re: How common is this?

I don't have the spid label yet (I requested a picture) but I have a handful that he emailed me.

Re: How common is this?

If it's a numbers matching BB402 truck it would be worth more. Getting numbers matching trucks are getting harder to find. Even though its a LWB truck verses a SWB that would not be a deal breaker for me. You say a partial trade? What value are you placing on the truck as trade consideration. Does it have rust? Rockers, inside cab by the widshield, underbody etc. To answer your question...if it is a numbers matching truck then it would be more rare as these type of trucks are getting harder to find now a days. Good Luck.

Re: How common is this?

I honestly don't know much about it. I had my Impala for sale or part trade on Craigslist and he responded. I'm pretty cautious on this one, as he doesn't sound very knowledgeable as to what he has. He said he was offered $6500 for it, but to be truthful I'm not all that interested in a 2wd anyway. We'll see if he comes up with any more info, but I figured I'd mention it in case there is someone out there looking for one.

Re: How common is this?

if he was offered $6500, he should have taken it. Hard to tell, but looks 8 lug to me.

Re: How common is this?

Tomahawk,
Theres a much better buy over in Weiser right now. Numbers matching c20, bb/th400 with factory air. Original hugger orange truck for 3 to 3500. I say that but he's asking 4200 last I looked. But it's been for sale long enough that he'd take less I'd think.

Stick with short box trucks is my advice, whether they're c's or k's.

Re: How common is this?

At this point I'm hoping I can just sell the Impala outright and keep my current truck! I'd rather not have to look for another truck until my son and I buy one to rebuild for him.... It's more fun to have money in your pocket and go shopping than to fish for trades....
