I was wonderin if they make bed covers for stepsides cause when i get my nice wood bed done i dont want it getting messed up. I've seen the realy expensive fibergalls ones but too much money for me Do they make the soft kind like BADBOW recently bought. I have always said I would never get a bed cover but it would get messed since it wont be in the garage all the time.

Yeah, they make the soft tonneau covers for stepsides. Check companies like Checkmate. Open any full size truck magazine and you'll find dozens of ads. IMO, why ruin your bed (drilling holes for the cover snaps) to keep from ruining your bed floor? Spend a few bucks and get a nice cover that doesn't require any drilling. If you don't have a copy of Truckin, grab one and look for the bed cover ads. Visit the websites and order catalogs, the pick the one you like.

Ya I would never drill holes in my bed after all the work I've been spending on it. I just do not wanna spend $1,200 on a hard cover. I've seen soft cover without snaps on a newer truck and I was wondering if they made it for my truck.

I've never seen a $1200 hard bed cover!

Top of the line hard covers max out at about $500. That's high even. Definitely shop around on prices.

Do you have the buttons on the bed rails? My brother had those from the factory. I think they were. But he had a black soft tonneau on it. Looked real nice.

I bought a Checkmate. It's now off and will not go back on. I just thought I wanted a bed cover on my truck. I prefer it much better without one. I guess I'm just not a bed cover person. Not anything wrong with it, just didn't like it.

All the work that goes into a wood bed to make it and keep it really nice, makes it a pretty hard decision to cover up. But, then you think about what will happen to that nice wood if you don't protect it. That's when the choice to cover it becomes a lot easier.
I think that having my nice bed full of wet leaves in the fall and full of snow in the winter would bother me alot more.
I've seen quite a few hard covers and like them more than the soft ones mainly because the soft ones are harder to reattach when the temperatures drop.
They also support the weight of snow better if you are forced to store your truck outside under a car cover during the winter months.
Just my 2 cents.

That looks pretty good but the more I think about it I dont want a bed cover and if I do get one it will be a hard one. I just dont know what im gunna do when I go off to college I guess I'll have to buy a house with a garage. I'm just worried about all my hard work and money going down the drain.

Isn't the wood sealed and the hardware stainless? Seems as long as you kept it clean you'd be alright.

If I had wood bed that nice I would put plexiglassss over it.Then you can have it protected while showin' off the wood in style!!! It would be cheaper than a solid cover that takes away the reason to put wood in?! ope this info. helps!!!! PLus i've never seen it done!

Ha, good idea but I don't think I would do that. I have seen plexiglass in place of the wood and that was realy trick! But if your gunna do that it would have to be strictly show.
