Question California Members Help Please

I am looking for a good, NO great body shop, or individuals to paint my truck. The shops in my area all want to do Insurance work and don't want to work with me. So that is why I am asking for help finding a shop that can help me. Thanks in advance, Landon

Hi Landon, when are you looking to have your truck painted?
Myself and a friend are doing restoration work (picking up the slack where body shops only want Insreance work), and we have several jobs lined up, so we may be able to do this in a few months. You would have to get the truck up here, and we do have access to a good booth. Don't know about $$ amount yet. Is your truck ready to spray? Need jams and underhood sprayed as well? Also, if you bodywork is done, we need to look at that because even the best paint job can't hide poor bodywork (no insult intended). We do have references and pics of cars that we have done.

I ran into the same problem when trying to get my quarter panels replaced on my lemans. I got qouted up to $2000 for both quarters installed and body work. But that was if they could find time to do it cuz they did only insurance work and didnt want to take on rust repair.

There is a guy down the street from my parents house that does it out of his garage. I guess he owned a body shop at one time but sold it to retire. But he loves doing it so he still does it out of his garage. Right now he has a 55 chevy in there. Not sure what his prices would be. If you want I can try to get you his number.

I found out of 5 shops in my area only 2 will do the work but both have quoted me $ 3000 - 8000 just to be ready for paint... I guess I have to have my future bro in-law help me out since he has supposedly done body work before...

Alexis, what is the name of the shop that you are talking about? And how did you hear about him? I would like to talk to him and see what he can do for me. My cab is ready for paint and I will be buying new fenders and a hood so everything will be ready to go. I am looking to get the cab painted first so I can get it out of my companys warehouse. Can you get the #'s for me? Thanks for the help Landon

Richard's Body Shop
32340 Silliman Rd.
Soledad, Ca

Richard Martinez
831.320.3554 is his cell which he uses for business. ...just incase your wounderin he does speak english. dont let the last name fool you. Oh the reason i said gonzales is cause of the water tower i saw about a mile or two from his shop while coming home. his shop is right near the new prison. but on the other side of the freeway. just stop by IMO it's the best way to get the info and check the shop out. it's just a big garage and a painting booth in one corner. hope this helps.
