Re: Crew cab rear seat belt?
My crew cab doesn't have them and it's an '85 but the original owner manuel (yes, it came with the truck) shows them as a factory option. Looking at the mounts you could probably just put a set in from the front seat and they'd bolt right in. I'll see if I can post some pics latter today.

Re: Crew cab rear seat belt?
Here are a few shots of the rear of my 87 crew with some front belts installed. I have not checked to see if the blind nuts are welded in the cab post. The trim has two knock out buttons in it so maybe the nuts are there. I may have had to use a spacer under the retractor like a washer. I don't remember. I was planning on doing a write up but haven't finished the project, I have been focused on the engine swap instead. Hope this helps Jay

Re: Crew cab rear seat belt?
By "jr", are you talking a infant carrier? Child seat? Booster seat? Once out of booster seats, lap belts are usually more comfortable for smaller children, especially if they are non adjusting shoulder belts. Seems they always end up across their neck or face.
If you're wanting to use a child seat, I'd be looking at how to install a tether strap that all modern cars have in the back seat. Would be very simple to do and would allow you to use a tether strap that can be tightened down a helluva lot easier and snugger. |

Re: Crew cab rear seat belt?
I justed look at an 84',It had the knockout buttons in the trim panels too.
Ohio seat belt laws require children 4 to 8 yrs old under 4'9" wear shoulder belts with a booster seat. He still in a car seat now, I'm just planing ahead.

Re: Crew cab rear seat belt?
Oddly enough, they can not require it if the vehicle did not come standard equipment with it. I'd check more in to that unless it's an easy solution for you. I'd personally feel better with just a lap belt, my 8 year old rides in the middle of the back seat in my truck, just a lap belt there. The middle is the safest place.

Re: Crew cab rear seat belt?
I'm a deputy sheriff and in Colorado the law states more then 40 lbs OR 4 years old for a lap belt only, Here's the pic of the seatbelts in mine as well as the manuel page with the Dealer Installed shoulder belt option.
