My swapmeet parts pics...

Went to the iola car show/swap on thursday and came home with a few goodies. Walked for 14 hours and didn't see it all. Took a day to recover, but it was worth it. Enjoy the pics...

Re: My swapmeet parts pics...

A few more pics...
The inner fenders were blasted and looked rust free until they got rained on.
Got a few CC parts.
Nice am/fm with speaker.
No shortage of parts, and people were willing to deal for the most part. And yes, It was HOT!!! Enjoy.

Re: My swapmeet parts pics...

nice haul....how were the prices overall? I went to super chevy and everything there was gold....more than retail and even higher than ebay prices I found a couple of fair deals for parts I needed and picked up some small things but that was it...

Re: My swapmeet parts pics...

Overall i thought prices were pretty fair. I think people realize the economy is tough right now and figure they need to be realistic if they want to sell anything. Afterall, these are luxuries. The am/fm came from a 72 sirrea grande i was told. It is one of the nicest originals i have seen as is the speaker. The guy said he parted the truck and it had everything but tilt. I should have brought more money!!!

Re: My swapmeet parts pics...

Nice haul Eric. My dad and I went Friday and didn't get too much. There were a few good deals but didn't see a whole lot we needed. I thought the prices were a bit high. Some vendors were even packing up Friday evening as we walked out and the car show was losing cars too.

I've never been there. I have a buddy that goes every year though. Sounds like a great time. Someday I will get there.

Eric, looks like you got the cruise master switch inventory bought up there. Great score on the parts. I might have to come up your way to buy trim and accessory items. Trevor

Re: My swapmeet parts pics...

I didn't get much at all. I dug through the NOS boxes and could've spent the whole day looking through them. The only truck related thing I ended up with is a pair of GMC 9500 Diesel emblems.

Got lucky, one guy had the 5 switches and the single turn signal/cc arm. Had to do a little digging to find some stuff. The lever looks like the same arm as in my 69. Can you tell by the number the application for it? Eric

Re: My swapmeet parts pics...

The lever is the later replacement lever offered for vans and trucks through 80 or so. The correct lever for yours should be chrome. Looks like you picked up a set of bed rails, I found a set over the 4th as well, used to see those all the time and now cant find them anywhere it seems. The Radio looks good as does the cluster for the super, how is the wood grain? Nice little haul!!!

Mine isn't factory on the 69, but maybe dealer installed. I think someone told me it may be a dana unit on my 69? I know the bedrails are GM accesories. I figured a guy should have a set. You are right about trying to find those anymore. The woodgrain on the cluster is pretty nice. The guy said the tach was new also. Looks like a GM tach head, but doesn't look new unless he had someone go through it. Just looks painted. Quite a day...

Re: My swapmeet parts pics...

Would the woodgrain bed rails like the ones you picked up be correct for our vintage? I always thought they the woodgrain ones were only 73+. Not knocking on ya, as I thought about putting a set on one of the trucks. So I also agree, they are getting harder to come across. Trevor

Yes, i believe 73 and up on the bedrails. I am starting to dabble more into the square body parts also.

A little east of stevens point WI. Usually the second weekend in july.

Re: My swapmeet parts pics...

SO your the one that grabbed all the good 67-72 parts from there. I was up there everyday and there just really wasnt a whole lot of stuff for our trucks and what was there was pretty pricey from what i saw. I only live 12 miles from iola and i make it every year. Im hoping to have my big block 70 3/4 ton 4x4 there next year. I just gotta get the motor mounts and get it set in then finish the body work

How does the Iola swap compare to the one in Jefferson, size wise? Never been to Iola but have been to Jefferson a few times
