Look at my new engine!!

New engine really just means more work for me. I'm sure i'll kick my self for not just bolting a 350 in like 99.9% of the rest of the world but once complete I wont have any complaints!

Here's the story, Critter has recently been scouring the internet adds looking for NV4500's for his build and came across a complete package deal with a 6.0/NV4500/NP241. The owner did not want to separate the combo and Critter didn't really want another 6.0 since he already has a nice low mileage one so he felt the need to call me and disrupt my sanity and tell me about the good deal. I spent the next few nights tossing and turning trying to decide if I should do it or not and the following pics should confirm my decision.

It's a 2000 model 6.0 with 120K btw.

No idea what i'm doing now, just gonna wait til Critter does all the research and installs his then i'm gonna have him come over and install mine

Actually with as slow as we both are by the time either of us get close to getting them installed there will be something waaaaay better out that we want and the cycle will begin once again.

Oh, the engine will be bolted to my SM465/NP205 combo, I have a 4 inch lift and will have 33" tires with 3.42 gears. Front axle is stock Dana 44 and the rear axle is a 6 lug semi floating 14 bolt. With those gears and tires it should be just about the same as I had bone stock with 3.08's and small tires and an overdrive isn't really necessary and I also really like my 4 speed so i'm keeping it.

Re: Look at my new engine!!

Well it ran in the truck, but it will be a ways before it's running in my POS. One day though I will post a vid of the engine running/blowing up but it will be a ways away.

At least you can buy more beer with the money you saved on the engine!

Can't wait to see some installation progress as I hope to have an ls series engine in mine also.

Re: Look at my new engine!!

Throw the 6.0 in the back of the blazer and tell anyone who asks what motor is has, say it's got a 11.7L (5.7 + 6.0 = 11.7)

Probably the closest it will ever get to being installed.

He can't do that, the 350 isn't installed right now either! I guess we could stuff them BOTH in the back...
