How the heck do you guys
Put on those springs on front drums when you replace them... I rolled them on and it almost took my head off when it rolled off any ideas thanks

what tool were you using to install the springs? Are you using brake tools or Exactly which springs are you refering to? With the correct tools, brake jobs aren't all that hard. I always do one side at a time. That helps when putting things back together.

I've rolled one on and took a few tries...and a little bleeding.
Matter of fact, if memory serves (it HAS been over 2 years) I think that's why the other 3 are still sitting in the bed. |

I leave the springs off. I have not noticed any noise increase.

I never took mine off. I think that's the best advice.

They make pliers and other tools special for brakes. I never found it to be cost effective to buy them being that I have a perfectly good set of pliers and some knuckles just waiting to get hit with them there springs. Patience my son, patience.

I don't know what happens to other guys with these springs, but in the rust belt, the ridge holding the spring in place is reduced by the corrosion, and the spring "walks" to the middle of the drums.
The springs will not stay in place, hence they are tossed. Jim |
