best rear axle
what would be the best rear axle for a 79 crew cab dually? a Dana 80, GM 14 bolt 10.5, or the AAM 11.5? im lookin for what would be the best for hauling, and have the best payload capacities out of the three, need some help since i cant google anything.

a gm 14bolt is a hard axle to beat in my experence. they are plentiful and easy to get parts for.

a 14 bolt axle is rated for 7,200lbs.

They are all strong. Its doubtfull you will haul enough with a pickup truck to hurt any of them. I would go with the 14 bolt just because they are everywhere. you can walk into just about any junkyard and leave with as many as you want. They were used for a long time and didnt change.
