What Wheels?

I just got my 49 3/4ton home and it has bad tires. I need to get some rubber under it so that I can 1. move it around and 2. drive it when I get it running.

What rims/wheels from later trucks will fit the 8 lug stock 3/4ton suspension? I want to change the suspension out later but it will be a while so I want to get the best deal possible.

Thanks!!

Re: What Wheels?

Ok. Anyone know if 2000 chevy 8 lug 2500 hd 16in steel wheels would fit?

I found these for a good price.

Re: What Wheels?

I have a 51 8 bolt 3/4 ton with 2 E-250 Ford van wheel on the back. I have heard that Dodge 3/4 tons are the same bolt pattern too. The main problem is the front wheels clearing the ends of the steering arms. That is the pinch point if the wheels have too much offset.

Re: What Wheels?

Well, I wound up with a 2 ford 8 lugs on the front and 2 Chevy 8 lugs on the rear. Rims and tires = $60.... Not bad to get her rolling!

Re: What Wheels?

WPS, You are exactly right, the Ford rims I got are to deep and hit the steering arms when in a tight turn. I had to add some spacers to get it to roll. Guess I won't be driving until I find some that fit correctly.

Re: What Wheels?

Ben, did you try the rear wheels on the front? Since you say the are Chevy and WPS said his fords were on the back.

Re: What Wheels?

I'll try that (missed that in his message), but, I have bigger tires on the rear rims. If it works I'll just take them and have the tires switched.

These are temporary anyway as I'm trying to get a different rear end and IFS. Then I get to hunt for another set of rims.....
