Difference in NP241?
I'm wondering if there is a difference between an NP241 mated to a 700R4 and an NP241 mated to a TH400. The tag on says NP241 C and both are passenger side drop. The listing says the case was pulled out of a 1990 Suburban 3/4 Ton with a TH400. I have an 89 K5 Blazer with a 700R4. Unfortunately I don't know the differences between transfer cases. Thanks in advance.

Re: Difference in NP241?
To my knowledge there's really no big difference (?) I have a 700R4 backed by a NP241C.

Re: Difference in NP241?
The NP241 is very similar to the 208, but has a VSS instead of a Speedometer cable. There may be other differences, but that is the main one. 90-91 4wd trucks have an electronic cluster instead of a cable driven one.

Re: Difference in NP241?
Yes. The spline counts are different. I was looking for an np241 for my project last year and they are kind of hard to find. I think they only came in 89' to 91' Blazers and Suburbans.

Re: Difference in NP241?
I put a np241 from a 91 burb behind my th400 and had to change the inputs. 27 on the 700r4 and 32 on the th400.

Re: Difference in NP241?
Also, the 1990-1991 np241 has a vss output rather than a mechanical speedo output like the 1989 np241 had, but other than that i believe the only difference is the 27 spline input for the 700r4 version and the 32 spline for the th400 or sm465 version (I believe)

Re: Difference in NP241?
oh ya, because your trucks an 89 the 90 t case would bolt in, you could swap to the vss style speedo, but if you put the 90 case in you'll lose the speedometer without changing anything else. Whats wrong with your current case?
