Hello from MA

New guys here from Mass. I just picked up an 87 long bed 4x4 with 3/4 ton axles and leafs up front and a 3" lift in the back. It is in the process of recieving a 5.3 out of a 2000 chevy p/u. I am mating it to the stock th400 since that is the easier route for now. I would love to upgrade to the 4l80e at some point, but I want to get her up and running this way first.

I am new to the truck scene, but not new to the ls motors. I have a 2006 Pontiac GTO that i drag race. It has run a best of 11.18 at 122 and 60' a best of 1.58 with a faceplated t56. It has the power to go 10's, but I have not been able to tie together a good run! I am daily driving it for now until i get the truck done since my company just decided to do away with my company vehicle! The amazing thing is it still pulls down 22-25mpg on the highway.

Thanks for all the great info so far, I hope I can contribute as much as I have learned so far!

Anthony
