Control arm bushing question (not removal or install)

I am about to put my newly powdercoated control arms together with new bushings and what not. What I am stuck on is the bushing retainers. The retainers that go on the end of the shaft with the threads I have, but the ones that go on the other, the inner end, of the bushing I do not have. Is there supposed to be retainers there, on the inner end, too? or just on the end that has the nut on it? I think I should be ok, but I am not sure. These are control arms from a different project, not from the one they're going on.
I looked at the arms on my suburban and it seems like there are supposed to be inner retainers on the uppers at least, but I can't tell on the lowers. I'd take pics, but I don't have access to my home pc, any idears?

This is on an '85 C10 Suburban
