Rear Air Ride Suspension
Has anyone installed one of these rear only Air Ride Suspension setups? I saw that they make rear only kits, I've heard that they are jumpy when riding in them, like they are too stiff. I just want to be able to level out the stance of my truck, however, I do a lot of towing and want to be able to tow and load the bed without straining the suspension and I've been told Air Ride is the best for this. Is this a hard install? Is the upkeep on these a lot? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Rear Air Ride Suspension
I have the ECE unit. Quality is first rate. I dont know who told you they were jumpy... I liked the ride in mine so much that I converted the front to Air ride too.

Re: Rear Air Ride Suspension
helper air bags on leaf springs can be kind of stiff but replacement bags for coil springs/trailing arms are like butta! my 2008 silverado has helper bags on leafs and it actually rides better with a load thoug.

Re: Rear Air Ride Suspension
How smooth is an air ride? I have a stock '69 C-10 2WD small block and like you all...I want a real smooth ride. If money were no object, what would you all install versus a bone stock setup? It is a pure highway pleasure truck.
Thanks...Rick |

Re: Rear Air Ride Suspension
convoluted bags in the front (2600lbs if possible), rolling sleeve bags in the rear (behind the axle). Properly installed will have a great smooth ride.
