LMC Upper control arm question

Re-installing all of my suspension components on my 87' r10. I ordered a new RH upper control arm from LMC truck. The ball joint has a blue cover over the ball joint grease seal. Is this needed for installation or is this just a shipping cover? Without the cover, the grease seal seems to rub the spindle while turning.

Re: LMC Upper control arm question

Do you have a picture of what you are talking about?
I'm not familiar with the "blue cover".

Re: LMC Upper control arm question

If it a hard plastic cover, then it is used for protection during shipping. The softer rubber dust boot will get sandwiched between the ball joint and the spindle
