installing coil springs
What is the best way to reinstall the front suspension coil springs with the crossmember out of the vehicle? I have a set of the spring compressors that are the threaded rod with the two hooks but the threaded part is too long to fit between the a arms and reattach the spindle. I could cut it but I don't really want to ruin the tool. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: installing coil springs
Put the crossmember up on stands. Run a chain under a floor jack, then up and over the frame. Slip the spring in and start jacking.

Re: installing coil springs
I would also run a chain through the spring and secure since the whole thing probably wont be that stable. Better safe when it comes to a coil spring. They come out like a rocket when bad stuff happens.

Re: installing coil springs
I went to the parts store and rented a coil spring compressor that goes up inside the spring. Worked like a charm!
