Tire Question

Will 225/70R15's fit on a 10" wide wheel. I know where I can get a good set of them for free. I just don't know if they will go on the wheels that are on my 66. Will they look funny on there? It has 270/60r15's on it right now I think.

Thanks

Re: Tire Question

They will look goofy on that wide of a wheel.

Re: Tire Question

It is not a good idea. That rim is way to wide for that size tire.

Re: Tire Question

Thanks Shortbed, That's kind of what I was afraid of. I think I will get them anyway just so I'll have them if I ever do get narrower wheels. Would they look funny on an 8" wide wheel?

Re: Tire Question

I'm running 235/75-15 on 8 inch rim 225/70 would be a little narrower but not much as they are 70 wide

The '70' (aspect ratio) represents the sidewall height, not the width.

Re: Tire Question

The max approved rim width for 225/70 is 7.5" but 8" would probably work OK.
