My baby is finally going according to plan
7 years ago I bought my 1 owner 74K mile '72 step with the plan of throwing a coat of paint on her and driving it till I got through high school. Well, I found out how addicting these trucks are as soon as I started work. After a 3 year frame off resto, I was able to drive her for the first time. I made it 10 miles before i pulled the top end off again for a new cam/intake/carb, and that was the beginning. Now, After driving her for 4 years, I finally have the parts to finish the plan I formed that first drive

After the springs are in, the next stop is Les Schwab, for some 295/50 Yokohamas on Torque Thrust IIs
I'm just so excited, I had to tell someone who understands what I am going through

'72 Shorty,
Nice truck. It looks Sweeeeet in that dark green. By the way, is that the factory "Forest Green". My project truck is a severely faded factory forest green, and I was wondering what that color looked like when the paint was in good shape. Again, nice truck.

It IS a great feeling to get close and then to finaly drive your completed project, but wait, is it REALLY done??? There's always one more thing you'll want to do. I said to my wife I'm done (LOL) while the big block is setting on the stand.

Thanks guys, I can't wait to get her in the shop this weekend.
That is the factory dark green,I think it was called Dk. Olive Met., but it's been a few years since I bought the paint. And no, she'll never be totally done, She's about ready for a new paint job Base/Clear this time,(and a parking spot where my mom won't bash her f*rd doors into mine) And then it's more motor work so I won't feel bad shifting at 7 grand.
