Re: What did you get done 7/25/10 Baseball Hall of Fame Induction edition

I pretty much sat on my butt in the house all weekend. Last week's heat, 100+ degrees everyday, wiped me out. My thermometer hit 113 yesterday afternoon, and no, it wasn't a dry heat either. LOL. Currently it's 111 at a front window and 104 at my kitchen window.

I may have to move up my A/C project (Vintage Air for the Heap) from December to, um, tomorrow. LOL.

Lets see,
friday i dropped off my 12 bolt rearend to be built w/ the eaton posi n new 3.73 gears and a new richmond install kit, took my magnums calipers apart and painted them red w/ the silver brake pad calipers, ordered my new discs for the truck as well as calipers.Took the calipers off the front of the truck as well as the sway bar, and when the new calipers come in im having them powdercoated w/ the swaybar n the front calipers.Last week i installed my Belle tech C notch kit on the frame and got the parts from powdercoating back. So thats it for this week..

Removed the ugly old grille guard/pushbar and polished up the nice chrome bumper that was hiding behind it. Truck looks much cleaner now!

Also suffered through the heat and humidity to mow my brother's lawn for an extra $25.

Re: What did you get done 7/25/10 Baseball Hall of Fame Induction edition

Nothing truck related but my mom and dad came up. My dad and I finished gutting my kitchen and did alot of rewiring in the walls. After the rewire, we insulated and vapor barrier'd the walls and hung some sheetrock. No mud or tape on the Sheetrock yet but the kitchen looks tons better already. Me and Laura also went to lowes and picked out the color of granite for our countertops. We'll have the money for that shortly. I also found a package of deal of GE appliances online. Side by side fridge, flat top convection oven, dishwasher, and microwave vent that goes over the oven. All stainless steel and all for just under 2 grand. Lowes can't even touch that price with 3 out of the 4 in that list. Also free shipping. We'll have the money for that shortly as well as the granite countertops. We already have all of the cabinets. I have to do a little floor leveling and then the cabinets will start to go in.

Re: What did you get done 7/25/10 Baseball Hall of Fame Induction edition

Friday evening I shopped for supplies for my weekend projects, then took the family to dinner. Friday night we got a call from Bro-in-law asking us to go to the lake with his famnily. So much for my full day in the garage on Saturday I had planned.

Saturday we went to Lake Somerville and played on the water all day. The skies were slightly overcast so the heat was bearable. We had a blast swimming and tubing.

Sunday I started early doing my weekend chores. I got everything done in time to have lunch with the family. From there I went shopping for supplies again. I found what I needed and finally got started on the Ride Tech e3 install.

Had the radiator repaired on my 95 Chevy for free!! Put it back in fixed an exhaust leak on it. Charged the A/C in a 99/00 Cummins and today looked a 78 square for a really good price

Re: What did you get done 7/25/10 Baseball Hall of Fame Induction edition

Took my mom, sister, and wife to the lake just so they could ride around in the boat. While there, the latch on my door stopped working. I slammed it really hard and got it to close, but haven't had time to look at it yet.

Sunday I looked at a house built in the 1940s with some property. Lots of room to work and store old truck parts! Maybe things will work out...

Re: What did you get done 7/25/10 Baseball Hall of Fame Induction edition

I spent the weekend packing. The movers come next weekend, but our house is pretty much packed. I still have to clean out the garage in the evenings this week. Hopefully it won't be too bad, but I bet it won't be too good, either.

Truck related, I sold my truck this weekend. I think it went to a good home, and it looks like Matt will be chiming in here.

Re: What did you get done 7/25/10 Baseball Hall of Fame Induction edition

Got the wiring done on my 79 and installed the exhaust rebuilt the distributor, new plugs and wires, changed the oil and just as we were getting ready to put everything back on and do a first fire a storm rolled in. So hopefully in the next week we will have the 79 fired up and in the process of being cleaned up for sale. Parting out the 83 as well and called a family friend on a 79 2wd auto chevy with 90k on it and its been garaged its entire life. From what I'm told it has been driven a total of maybe 2-3k miles in the past 10 years. Hopefully picking it up on the 6th or 7th I'll take pictures after its had its bath and I've removed the camper shell.

Repaired rusted out metal behind both rear wheels, and passenger side door lower corner. Also repaired the bed corner caved in by presumably a mailbox. Started sanding the truck as well....
