Clunk coming from rear?

Hey guys, took my truck out of the garage yesterday for a ride around the block real quick and when I brake, there is a loud clunk in the rear. I can feel it too. I cant figure it out... The truck will be alinged this friday and dont plan on driving it untill it is aligned but what could this be?

Is it possible my pinion angle is off causing the drive shaft to clunk? Or?...

The correct drop shocks for the rear are on the way do you think its maybe a shock thing and I should see what happens when I replace the stock shocks with the lowered shocks?

See thats what I was thinking, I just replaced them but I know new parts can be faulty, I will have to check those out again. I wonder if the pinion angle can mess up U-joints..

Re: Clunk coming from rear?

i rebuilt my rear end and didn't set the backlash correctly and has this happen, could be worth looking into.

NVM! I now know what backlash is...

Is this something an alignment shop can do? Kind of new to all of this setting stuff to the proper adjustments anyways..

Another thing you might check, is that your drive line needs to be regreased at the yoke and transmission tail shaft.

I was getting a clunk on my Tahoe Limited and come to find out, this is what the problem was. Popped the driveline out, greased the crap out of it and it was fine after that.
