ECE install help???

I got the front done and a I have looked at Lolife's post about trimming the a-arm due to 15" rally wheels, however several others state it isn't needed. But mine are awfully close to the wheel. Look at the pic and tell me if I need too. Will it get closer when I set the truck on the ground? I have about a 1/4 inch clearance right now!

Re: ECE install help???

I'm pretty sure you will need to... Any spindles I have installed with 15" rally wheels required the A-Arm to be trimmed. It isn't the bottom that needs to be trimmed... It's the bottom part of the front and back edges. Turn the wheels to full "lock" and spin the wheel and tire. You will probably find that it grinds on the arm in the places I mentioned.

Oh, I forgot to mention... Before you spin the wheel too hard, watch out for your wheel weights, the control arm will probably catch them and pull them off. Not sure if your wheels and tires are balanced but it might be a PITA if you knock them off.

X2^.
Jump up and down on the front bumper with the wheels turned left,... and then right.
You will see the need to trim.
Also look for clearance issues between the a-arm and any wheel weights.
What drop spring did you use?
You need to look at the bumpstops and make sure there is enough room between them and the crossmember to allow for a good ride.
You may need to trim the rubber bumpstop shorter, or remove it totally.
