65 GMC rear end options
Hey Guys
I have a 65 GMC short/step project. Gonna end up putting a big block in it. (V8 BB) It has a dana 44 with 3.54 gears. I wanted to put in a Powertrax, but i keep hearing they dont hold uup to a BB. What are some other options for this? Is it better to swap it out for a 12 bolt? Or is there another option to make it a strong posi? I just put new tires on the 6 lug rims, and just totally rebuilt the brakes with new rear drums. After all that i would hate to swap to 5 lug. |

Re: 65 GMC rear end options
I'm not sure just what is available for the Dana 44. Your axle splines might dictate what you can install and cannot. I know for the Dana 44 fronts you can get a Detroit locker....those are damn tough, but I think they are a finer spline than what you have....I might be wrong though. Have you checked with
