Another sorry neighbor story

Well I've lived here for 11yrs, even bought my place from my neighbors sister!
It didnt take me long to figure out why she sold it either!
I would like to have a dollar for everytime my neighbor has called the LAW or the ZONING people on me for what ever!
I spent $3.500 bucks on a 8' high steel fence that blocks the view of our yds 100%
I havent had a truck of our yrs that we all love in 4yrs or more in my yd.
So last month I buy a 69 swb for my son to drive to high school and we also aquired a 72 donor, thought I would through that in there too.
But this morning the lil ZONING guy drops buy and says my neighbor has came up there and complained about junk trucks in my yard.
The only way he would even know this, would be to get a latter and look over the fence!
What a prick!
I'll put the 69 in the shop and throw a tarp over the 72!
Land of the free and home of the brave!
If he was a young man I could fixs this but he is 80 something!

Re: Another sorry neighbor story

my neighbors are too busy calling the police on my pitbull/mastiff crosses to worry about the half torn apart 68 under a car cover in my driveway, ALL men need to live in the country on an acreage and minimum half a mile from their neighbors hahaha, I wish.

hindsight....put the fence 3 feet "INSIDE" your property line.Hell just move the section that borders his property. That way he'll be trespassing if he touches your fence !

Re: Another sorry neighbor story

I would check the local code about inoperable vehicles. Here we are "allowed" one inop. vehicle in the backyard as long as it is hidden from ordinary public view. We are also allowed to have parts as long as they belong to a antique, collectable, or special interest vehicles. I have been battling this for quite a few years now. I keep a copy of the code and read it to them when they get a complaint and they usually leave me alone.

Sorry to hear about that. Makes you wonder why some people are so sour....I think a lot of it is jealousy...

Re: Another sorry neighbor story

I am real sorry hear that you are having problems with your neighbor complaining about the vehicles in your yard. I think as long as your vehicles are out of site your neighbor should keep his nose out of your business.

I as sure glad I live out in the country, at one time I had 5 parts trucks parked by my garage. I am now down to one and a half parts trucks. The half is mine and the one is my son's. He lives in town so we put the parts trucks out here on the farm.

I sure hope things turn out ok.

Re: Another sorry neighbor story

sorry to hear your still dealing with that guy, some people are miserable and insist on trying to bring you down with them ,on the upside chances are you won't be dealing with him much longer seeing how he's 80 . I know what your dealing with the law was here last monday, the nieghbor called and said I was harrasing him about his dogs and wanted me to stop revving the engines on my cars, turns out somebody else called animal control on him.

Gotta be careful about that... you'll be left with no access to your 3' strip of land, and in some jurisdictions, if your neighbor maintains and uses that land, he can end up owning it -- and it's all legal.

So this guy is 80? I could be wrong but i bet his property has something that you can pick on. Put up a strand of electric fence wire for him. Man some people kill me. Hope you get this resolved.

Re: Another sorry neighbor story

i'm sorry....i have a long term project vehicle in my yard and another at my parents house. never had a problem, but......to whoever gave me trouble i'd quite frankly scream in their face and tell them to you know what.... i don't care who they are or who they represent! i keep things relatively neat and not looking like a trash heap and i'll thank people to stay out of my personal affairs since they are perfectly legit!

Re: Another sorry neighbor story

that does suck. i guess some people just have too much time on their hands and feel the need to stick their nose in other people's business and make their lives harder. biggest reason i told my realestate agent no HOAs. and fortunately my neighbors are rather nice and pleasant. i suppose i'm one of the fortuneate few

Some people are just..Well I wont Swear. I lived next to a guy for 16 years and in the end I just moved. It was time to move on anyway but when he would make my life miserable...Payback was a B*tch....

If his dog barks phone bylaw...I bet he has somethin you can complain about..Weeds, dog, etc.

And yes its always good to know the law and your Rights so you know where you stand. He can complain all he wants but if you are within your rights then too bad.

Re: Another sorry neighbor story

OK here is the plan:

1. Get a large hunk of metal

2. Get an air chisel

3. Touch air chisel to large hunk of metal and pull trigger

4. When POS neighbor lifts his potato head face over the fence, douche him with pepper spray and call cops saying he was a robber trying to scale your fence

5. Live happily ever after

Re: Another sorry neighbor story

I feel your frustration. My neighbor called the city on me for working on my truck in the driveway. I told them the painted bed would have to be in the drive while I painted the cab in the garage. I was told that is illegal, it is considered outside storage. So I put the bed in the yard and called it art. I then proceeded to finish the truck. Haven't heard from the neighbor or the city. I wish the only problems I had to deal with were what the neighbors are up to.

How about making him a pigeon farmer! buy pigeon food and late at night/early morning scatter about 10lbs on the roof of his house. Pigeons will enjoy it and make his house their roost forever. don't get mad get even!

sorry to here of your troubles-seen this type before-he'll slip up someday.
