dana 60 swap

hey,

Im still new around here and am thinking of swaping a cummins into my 70 3/4 ton, but want to upgrade my front axle for the weight. Can anyone point me in the right direction with what year make and model would be fairly easy to bolt up? not thinking of divorcing the cummins running gear, if that helps..

Re: dana 60 swap

I have a 70 GMC 4x4 3/4ton with a dana 60 in the rear and a 44 in the front. No motor and trans in it now, taken out to paint the frame. My leaf spring perches are about 32 in across, so i would want some dana 60 that is near that, so i dont have to. I measured an axle from a dodge(98) and it was 42 across. I was hoping to buy a complete dodge with a cummins, but i guess i will just buy the motor now. Anyone have any suggestions on which vehicles had a dana 60 with 32in width on the springs?
